Teen Yoga Series


This 6-week yoga series offers practical tools to help develop mind-body awareness, positive self-image, and resiliency in their journey to adulthood. This series is designed to support teen girls with the following through mindful movement and breathing techniques:

  • Manage stress and anxiety

  • Improve focus and academic performance

  • Promote positive body image, self-acceptance and boost confidence

  • Improve physical health: strength, flexibility, posture

  • Offer community and support within student cohort

  • Help emotional regulation and overall resilience 

Class size will be limited to 10 students to ensure focused attention on student needs.

Class Agenda

Each 60-minute class will offer the following format of centering, physical practice, and final reflection:

  • Welcome and practice introduction 

  • Yoga practice: the types of yoga offered will vary between the following to introduce students to different modalities:

    • vinyasa yoga: a flow class for strength building, balance, and focus

    • restorative yoga: relaxation-focused with use of yoga props like blocks and blankets to create restful, restorative poses

    • yoga/Pilates combo: low-impact, functional movement focusing on core strength and stability 

  • Recap and reflection

When:

  • Tuesdays from 6:30p - 7:30p

    • April 21

    • April 28

    • May 5

    • May 12

    • May 19

  • Optional Bonus Class:

    • Mom/Daughter Yoga on Sunday, May 10 from 3:00p - 4:00p

This timing considers the timing of Spring Break and EOG testing, so students may apply the resources learned in class to prepare for testing and the transition into summer (and beyond!)

Who it’s for:

This series is for 13-15 year old girls who are looking for any of the following:

  • Exposure to yoga in a non-judgmental, low-pressure, welcoming environment

  • An individualized physical activity

  • Stress-relief through movement and mindfulness

  • Supportive, enriching community

Investment:

The full 6-class series investment is:

  • $195 if registered before April 7

  • $245 if registered after April 7

Includes:

  • Personalized instruction from CPR/First Aid certified yoga and Pilates teacher with 10 years teaching experience

  • 10:1 class size for a focused, personalized environment

  • A balance of physical practice for strength and flexibility alongside mindfulness and stress-reducing breathing techniques to promote self acceptance 

  • All yoga props and materials needed for class (yoga mats, blocks, blankets, bolsters)

  • Provided journals for post-class reflection

  • Optional Bonus Class: Mom/Daughter yoga on Sunday, May 10 at 3:00p - 4:00p
